Happy New Year

Cork

Storm Eleanor swept across the country last night. We didn’t do too badly down here in Cork and we woke up to a lovely sunny day!

Hope you all had a lovely break and Happy New Year.

Black and White

This week is a little bitter-sweet for me. It’s my last week working in the job I’ve had for 15 years, which means it would be my last week walking into town in the mornings. I love my walk into work. I go past the port and the river and there’s always something going on. Many of my photos here and on Instagram are from those morning walks. So, I decided for this week’s theme of Black and White to do a port shot.

Head over to From Moments to Memories if you want to join in the challenge.

Wide Angle

The weather this week definitely hampered any thoughts I had for getting out and about to take wide-angled shots for this week’s challenge topic on From Moments to Memories.

So, I’m going with an old reliable port shot. I’m lucky enough to pass by here every morning on the way to work and there’s always something happening or a lovely sunrise!

Have a lovely weekend!

New Beginnings

So this year I decided that I’m going to do one photo challenge with a different theme each week. I’ve decided to do Sheila’s challenge from over at From Moments to Memories. She has all the weeks set out already, which is great.

This week’s theme is new beginnings. Today was my first day back at work, so the picture has many beginnings. Beginning of the day, work-week and work-year!

It’s a view those of you who follow this blog are familiar with, but one I never tire of taking. I love walking past the busy port in the mornings, especially around sunrise.
